JOB SUMMARY: The SVP, Business Banking Director is responsible for leading and fostering all initiatives that lead to low-cost business deposit growth and fee revenue generated by sales activities and client account management. This position supports the creation and administration of sales and services processes to onboard and maintain new business customers and accounts at Forbright Bank. This also includes sales and service practices related to the customer’s online banking experience and treasury management solutions offered by the Bank. The SVP, Business Banking Director manages National Lending Deposits, Digital Onboarding, and Treasury Management Sales. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide leadership to drive business deposit balance growth through a focus on new acquisition, deepening of existing customer relationships and cross sell thereby improving market and customer share of wallet with the Bank
  • Provide thought leadership and collaboration with product development, marketing, data, and financial analytics to ensure the Bank offers strategy-aligned deposit and treasury management products that have an effective go-to-market strategy and pricing model
  • Coordinate and lead training efforts for bankers, treasury management sales and digital onboarding
  • Lead by example by participating in client and prospect meetings with Business Development Officers, treasury sales, and digital onboarding team members
  • Collaborate with departments such as product, credit, and digital servicing teams to improve customer service delivery through turnaround times, service level agreements, and process improvements
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the SVP, Retail Banking Director and SVP, Premier Banking Director on the development and implementation of customer outreach initiatives to drive business deposit growth
  • Ensure effective department structures and systems (policies, processes, procedures, and tools) for optimal efficiency, resource utilization and cost containment
  • Maintain legal agreements for treasury services and work with legal resources on recommended revisions and rollout
  • Represent Forbright Bank on industry organizational boards, committees, working groups and task forces
  • Provide leadership which translates into a conducive work environment, effective performance, competency management, and employee satisfaction within the team
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Supervise assigned employees by organizing and monitoring work progress 
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees 
  • Manage performance of employees through development, coaching, and counseling 


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 12 years of related experience in the banking, financial services, or related industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role required 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field required 
  • Expert knowledge of business banking products, payments and treasury management solutions, and related laws and regulations required  
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization 
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams to achieve high performance 
  • Utilize strategic thinking and collaboration to produce effective results 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and banking software applications

• Operate technology and other office machinery such as printers, fax machines, scanners, etc.

• Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with others
