FORKLIFT DRIVER - PUTAWAY

(Full-time)

Location: Forest Park, IL

Department: Receiving

Rate: $18.00 (must be fully trained)

Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Position Summary:

As a Forklift Driver, you are passionate about supporting your team to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of our customer orders, for our Paper Source stores and dot com customers. You take pride in assuring your team has the tools and knowledge to correctly fill these orders, minimizing any quality issues. You consistently work with your team to meet or exceed the daily production goals and are comfortable performing these duties in a warehouse environment and in accordance with our Core Values.

What you do:

As a forklift driver you will be given the opportunity to operate up to 4 different forklift machines (order picker, sit down, pallet jack, reach).

We will provide training on those trucks you haven't yet driven. Drivers must follow all driver safety guidelines, always yielding to pedestrians and work to meet or exceed quantity and quality standards to preserve product, facilities, and machinery, while filling customer orders.

Essential Functions:

To be successful in this role, you must enjoy working in a fast-paced work environment! We are looking for highly motivated individuals who demonstrate reliable attendance and a willingness to learn. To do this, we need everyone to work together and be flexible to move to different areas in the warehouse based upon business needs. You will be required to demonstrate excellent manual dexterity and coordination; organize and store all inbound inventory electronically; pull products based upon customer orders and prepare for outbound shipping; safely and without damage, move pallets of product throughout the warehouse; operate forklifts around low overheads, exercising machine height awareness and strictly operate the correct forklift in designated areas only.

At all times, you will be expected to follow strict safety practices including OSHA required procedures including but not limited to machine check-in/out, machine operations and standards, personal protective equipment (PPE), proper lifting techniques, and report all accidents no matter how minor.

Our ultimate goal is to exceed our customers’ expectations by delivering quality products in a timely manner. Continuous body movement and the ability to stand for long periods of time; lifting, pushing, and pulling continuously up to 50 lbs will allow you to meet these expectations

Knowledge and Experience:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform continuous lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
Ability to operate more than 30 feet above ground and are required to have good manual dexterity, depth perception and attention to detail
Strong aptitude for technical knowledge and skill, for using hand-held and machine mounted portable computers and scanners
Ability to reflex to execute precautionary measure while operating forklifts in a warehouse environment
Knowledge of the RF (Radio Frequency) gun
Warehouse experience a plus
Must be able to operate order picker or turret (both are preferred)
Strong basic math skills
Must be able to accurately and efficiently move material so orders are neat and damage free
Ablility to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
