Forklift Operator (Material Handler) - Night Shift

Must have experience on sitting forklift manipulating large hauls.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Performs physical tasks to transport, store, load/unload materials within the production area and shipping & receiving areas. Ensures production departments are supplied with required materials to assemble components as dictated by Materials Manager.

2. Operates forklift in a safe and consciousness manner at all times.

3. Transports materials using a forklift, pallet jack, tugger, and/or two-wheeled dolly. Manually loads and unloads transporting device, unpacks, repacks, shelves, or places items in proper storage locations or at production line maintaining established FIFO standards.

4. Maintains forklift; completes daily check sheet, charges the battery daily, checks water levels, performs a visual inspection of the general condition, makes appropriate/approved adjustments; refers problem to supervisor. Must be able to change propane tanks without assistance according to established policies. Ensures that all storage racks for propane are organized and kept closed.

5. Provides material movement within plant for inventory control purposes, dispose of scrap, obtains a weight count filling out necessary reports, and distributes reports to supervisor. Scans/verifies all incoming and outgoing product and paperwork is completed per established procedures.

6. Loads/Unloads all material on to or off of trailers as required according to established procedures and customer requirements.

7. Performs all other duties as assigned, including filling in on the assembly line or other areas if needed.

8. Maintains cleanliness in all work areas and on forklifts.

Principle Accountabilities: FIFO, 5-S Requirements including (Warehouse cleanliness, dunnage storage area, exterior cleanliness and trash removal from production lines), minimization of line downtime due to lack of material

Education: High school diploma / GED

Experience: - Minimum of three years experience

- Must have valid Forklift Operator’s license with Benteler or pass required training

- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs manually

- Must not have a medical condition that limits or restricts operation of any type of motor vehicle.

- Must wear safety belts at all times while on the forklift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.32 - $20.50 per hour
