Position Summary:Reporting to the Director - Compensation and Benefits, the Coordinator - Employee Leave and Accommodations will be a key member of the Compensation and Benefits team supporting the administration of leave benefit programs and providing the workforce with leave information and offerings. The Benefits team is part of a larger Talent Management team, and the Leave Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for employees with respect to leave programs in addition to liaising with TM, Payroll, IT, other internal stakeholders, and leave vendors.
The position coordinates and administers the district's leave programs including Family Medical Leave, paid maternity leave, and other types of District leave. Processes and documents all claims, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation. This position also coordinates with supervisors regarding ADA accommodations in the workplace.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration, or a
related field; or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience
Experience:
• Two (2) years of experience in human resources required, particularly experience with
benefits and/or leave management
• Two (2) years of experience with employee leave case management preferred
• Two (2) years of experience with health benefits and retirement plans
• One (1) year experience working in a school district preferred
• Experience coordinating Disability and Leave of Absence (LOA) procedures and
processes
• Experience overseeing, administering, and/or managing ADA accommodations, FMLA
requests, and district leave of absence requests covered under district policies
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
• Working knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation,
and other US Labor Laws
• Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/leave administration is a plus
• Working knowledge of Munis or similar HRIS system preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
Other:
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
