Senior Software Engineer (Embedded)

Freeform is deploying software-defined, autonomous metal 3D printing factories globally. They are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to architect critical embedded software systems for their advanced metal 3D printing factories.

Skills

5+ years of C/C++ and/or Rust development experience
Real-time embedded system design with Linux OS
Object-oriented programming and design
Experience with industrial automation systems or related hardware

Responsibilities

Architect state-of-the-art software for an advanced production-scale metal 3D printing system
Design and develop the machine instruction interface to the metal 3D printing system hardware
Develop software for different system functionalities including computer vision, sensor monitoring, and automation solutions
Work with other engineers to integrate control algorithms and develop high-speed data acquisition software
Create software for process data collection and automation solutions
Generate and maintain documentation of designed software and integrated systems

Education

Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in computer science, applied mathematics, engineering, or related field (Nice to have)
