Our Fairbanks Westmark Hotel and Conference Center team is looking for a Front Desk Clerk to join our Hotel Services team.

Responsibilities:

  • Works under moderate supervision to provide customer service and process guest requests and reservations.
  • Applies knowledge of Company products, services, and policies and services, to evaluate customer’s needs, provide information, resolve complaints, and to generate sales.
  • Processes and monitors credit card transactions and verifies successful completion.
  • Maintains records of reservations and transactions within appropriate logs.
  • Performs clerical duties required by departmental supervision.
  • Answers calls from customers, employees, and management to respond to guests' queries, process guest requests and reservations.
  • Coordinate guest amenity requests, reservations, and special requests.
  • Assists customers, employees, and management and responds to queries.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification is required. Six months as a Front Desk Clerk within the hospitality industry preferred.
  • One year customer services is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check that will include a credit check.

  • Must be able to legally work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized accounting hotel reservations and point-of-service systems.
  • Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
  • Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise and manage staff and guests requests/inquires.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management, employees and customers with sensitivity, tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate, coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments, management, and staff.
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including all company health and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
