The Power and New Energy Group conducts commercial and investment banking for all sectors of the Energy Industry (primarily power and gas utilities, oilfield service companies, refiners, petrochemical companies, and oil & gas independents and majors and energy transition) for Credit Agricole Americas. The Power and New Energy Group is one of the largest corporate coverage groups for Credit Agricole Americas. The referenced position is based in Houston.
Primary Function: Work with transaction and relationship managers to evaluate various structured and corporate energy transactions and general portfolio management.
Responsibilities: Evaluate transactions with Energy clients from their origination through closure which includes:
Assessing creditworthiness of clients by using financial analysis, strategic business analysis, and cash flow projections.
- Extensive energy experience in both corporate and project/structured finance given our targeting of growing hybrid financings in this space on renewables as well as hydrocarbon businesses.
- Performing due diligence, including: researching, identifying and evaluating company and industry risks and trends; analyzing risks of various financial structures; assessing risk/return profile of transactions and relationships.
- Preparing credit proposals, liaising with key credit people in NY and Paris, and presenting to credit committee for approval.
- Acting as a bridge between the project finance team, leverage finance and risk management.
- Client facing position as prime origination support to PCO for renewable hybrid developers and non-hydrocarbon emerging players
- Reviewing and negotiating legal documents.
- Liaising with the client, other financial institutions, and internal credit and commercial groups.
- Managing credit portfolio, including periodic credit reviews and middle office monitoring requirements.
- Monitoring the clients’ financial situation and the industry dynamics, assist relationship managers in generating cross-selling ideas.
- Developing client relationships within the scope of credit evaluation (including participating in client visits and bank meetings).
- Developing sectorial expertise on non-hydrocarbon technologies with a focus on hydrogen, CCUS & renewable power generation
- Keeping current on industry knowledge, banking products, and financial structures.

Salary range: $120k - $125k
