Drawing upon our unrivaled depth of industry expertise and interdisciplinary experience and using our broad network of relationships with key influencers, we help clients clarify, persuade and ensure that the right message reaches the right audience at the right time.ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:We are currently looking for a Senior Director in our Public Affairs, Energy & Natural Resources group. The Senior Director will take a leadership role in the development and management of communications programs. The Senior Director will oversee the development and execution of multi-stakeholder communications activities, which requires knowledge of the energy industry-gas and regulatory matters, media, government, legal, technology, industrials, infrastructure, and financial issues. The Senior Director is a primary client counselor and will be a valuable member of a growing global practice, supporting projects across a variety of industry sectors. A successful Senior Director will work in collaboration with colleagues and clients to provide tailored solutions that successfully engage employees and communicate change within organizations. He or she is confident in an entrepreneurial environment, with the ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships, deliver high quality work, and contribute to internal practice development initiatives as well as new business activities. Periodic travel is required.PRIMARY DUTIES:The Senior Director manages account teams and projects, leveraging in-depth knowledge of clients' objectives and challenges to oversee the design and implementation of innovative strategies to assist them through communication challenges and position them for the future. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:• Develop strategic proposals and communications plans for clients and new business prospects• Serve as a primary client contact, providing strategic counsel directly to clients in meetings, conference calls and while working on client sites• Oversee project management and document development to ensure deadlines are met and objectives are achieved• Anticipate client needs and concerns and work to proactively to address them• Drive new business pursuits, including the development of thought leadership, identification of business prospects and ongoing networking on behalf of the firm• Support team training and professional development and serve as a performance manager to select junior staff• Manage profitability and utilization on multiple projects and accountsBASIC REQUIREMENTS:• Bachelor's degree• 10-15 years of communications or related experiencePREFERRED SKILLS:• Ability to advise and secure confidence of senior communications and C-level client contacts, as well as other outside legal and financial advisors• Excellent organizational skills and written and verbal presentation skills• Proven project management track record and comfort managing and working with staff at all levels• Strong work ethic, attention to detail and a service-oriented attitude• Ability to work under pressing deadlines across multiple projects and portray calm in the face of difficult situations to clients and other team members• Track record of managing communications with multiple stakeholders (investors, employees, customers, media, etc.) during hostile and friendly transactions, bankruptcies, crises, distressed and litigation scenariosPOSITION CLASSIFICATION: ExemptFTI Consulting is an Equal Opportunity Employer
