This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States.
As our Senior Software Engineer specializing in Android, you will craft privacy-focused, high-performance native libraries that help app developers create exceptional user experiences. Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Capture, you'll be instrumental in building our cutting-edge behavioral data platform.
Every day in this role will present you with unique and exciting challenges, from reverse engineering Android systems to developing cross-platform solutions. You'll be part of a dynamic team, collaborating with Go API specialists and frontend developers to ensure our platform delivers top-notch performance and fidelity.
This role is a perfect fit for someone with deep systems programming knowledge and a passion for applying it to Android.
In a typical day, you might:
Reverse engineer Android systems to recreate user sessions while always prioritizing privacy
Develop cross-platform code in Rust for shared components
Optimize performance for both on-device operations and session replay
Design support for new Android features like Jetpack Compose
Innovate new ways to enhance our customers' digital experiences
Mentor team members and contribute to timely product releases
Here's what we're looking for:
Experience programing in C, C++, Rust or other systems languages
Experience building an Android App at scale
Understanding of Android internals, especially Compose and xml based layout rendering
Experience building a Gradle plug-in
Understanding of Kotlin/Java compilation
The impact you will have in 6 months:
You'll have contributed significant improvements to our Android SDK's performance and capabilities
The impact you will have in 12 months:
You'll be leading the development of innovative features for our Android platform, setting new standards in the industry
The base salary for this position ranges between $160,000 - $190,000 USD. Base salary will vary based on relevant experience, job-related skills and qualifications.
