The Learning Designer will be responsible for planning and storyboarding courses. The role will apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods and will be able to articulate instructional end goals and work with team members and experts to create content that matches. The Learning Designer will serve as a source of pedagogical knowledge for the Content Team, advising on media assets, content hierarchy and structure, and exercises or activities that enhance the learning process.
The Learning Designer will play an integral role in the evolution of the Content Team, as the business grows and adapts to new and changing business requirements. Creativity and experience in learning design are key for success in this role. Learning Designers are fluent in pedagogy and methodology, and are skilled at breaking down complex concepts into easily understood pieces, and in communicating plans to the build team.
This team member will work closely with colleagues throughout the Content Team to understand course and project requirements, translate those needs into delivery solutions, and then work closely with the build team to develop online learning experiences that are aligned to FutureLearn’s purpose of transforming access to education.
