Classification: The position is a non-exempt (hourly) position with the expectation of working 40 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend hours to accommodate the needs of Gather.General Description of Position: Gather seeks a dynamic and creative Grants and Communications Manager to join our development team. As a non-profit organization dedicated to ending food insecurity in New Hampshire, we seek someone passionate about our mission and able to develop and implement effective marketing and communication strategies to reach our target audiences. This role will oversee the research, writing, submission, and tracking of all grants, reports, and sponsorship requests to institutional funders, including private foundations, government agencies, and corporations. Additionally, this position will be expected to spend several hours in the field collecting and posting content for Gather’s Social Media platforms, website, and newsletters.Responsibilities:Grants Management and Stewardship• Create and maintain the grant proposal calendar by tracking current grant cycles, deadlines, renewal processes, and action items to ensure continued funding.• Manage all aspects of the grants administration process, including submission, processing awards, executing grant agreements, sending acknowledgment letters, tracking and managing deliverables, etc.• Work with the Data Manager to ensure necessary database records, files, and reports related to institutional funders are maintained.• Conduct research to identify new institutional funders for grants and sponsorships with the goal of increasing our institutional funding from $800,000 to $1.4 million or more over the next 2-3 years.• Develop stewardship strategies for new and existing funders, and work with the Director of Development and Communications and the Executive Director to ensure that funder relationships are nurtured.• Support the development of relevant communication materials for institutional funders.Proposal and Report Development and Writing• Collaborate with the Director of Development and Communications and other key staff and stakeholders to design the strategy for proposals and evaluation metrics for reporting on results.• Research, write, and edit high-quality narratives for grant proposals, funding applications, reports, letters of inquiry, and acknowledgment letters.• Maintain narrative templates that reflect the latest research and industry trends.• Collaborate with the Director of Finance to generate program budgets, and with the Director of Development and Communications to generate proposals and reports.Marketing and Communications• Create and curate engaging content across various social media platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn) to raise awareness and foster community engagement.• Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and proactively engage with the community through comments, messages, and discussions.• Manage staff requests for collateral and marketing materials related to Gather’s programs and events.• Spend time in the field collecting content (photos, videos, testimonials) to be used for social media posts, newsletters, and other communications materials.• Write compelling and informative content for social media posts, newsletters, blog posts, and other platforms as needed.• Ensure all content adheres to Gather's brand voice, messaging, and visual guidelines.Qualifications:• 3-5 years' experience writing, submitting, and managing foundation grants and corporate sponsorship proposals and a proven track record of generating institutional funding.• 2+ years' experience managing social media, email marketing, and website content.• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and stories.• Exceptional organizational and project management skills.• Experience with graphic design is a must. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva is a plus.• Working knowledge of Salesforce or other donor database.• Must pass a background check and have a valid driver's license.If you are passionate about ending food insecurity in New Hampshire and have a track record of success in building awareness of the need and securing funding to support the work, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
