Advanced Internal Communications Specialist

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in a specialized area; or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities for this Position:

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Advanced Internal Communications Specialist. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

Works with collaborative teams to create engaging print and visual media communications for our employees
Works with subject matter experts to design and update SharePoint sites and portal pages with engaging text, graphics and layouts and will report website analytics
Works directly with senior level staff to coordinate organizational announcements, all hands meetings, articles and more, maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders
Owns, creates and implements communications strategies and plans based on metrics to support subject matter experts and inform decisions
Use graphics and writing skills to create effective PowerPoint presentations and web banners
Writes articles and emails using AP Style for the employees
Supports and engages in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and complies with all policies and procedures
Follows industry trends and pursue technology innovation
This is a senior position level in a field of specialization knowledge

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to design engaging graphics, experience designing
Knowledge and experience using and designing in SharePoint
Proficient in AP Style writing
Ability to work independently and to establish a strong working relationship with remote team members
Fully proficient and able to perform all responsibilities associated with the position
Grasps and applies new information quickly; handles more complex assignments
Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment and professionally executes projects with little direction
Exercises innovation and problem solving skills
Willingness to travel to support company events as needed (~once a month)
This is a Hybrid position working in the Fairfax, VA office ~3 days a week.

Salary Note: This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled. Combined Salary Range: USD $98,143.00 - USD $106,194.00 /Yr. Company Overview:
