General Ledger Accountant
We are currently recruiting for a General Ledger Accountant to join the Benchmade Knife Company team. The General Ledger Accountant is responsibility is for month-end closing activities for Benchmade, including preparation of all journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, preparation of financial statements and other related reporting. This position will also assist the Controller in all accounting and finance matters, including collection of cost accounting data, allocation of costs and related cost and financial analyses, government required reports, commission reporting, and running of nightly financial reports. This will also include special projects as needed.
Responsibilities:
- All month-end closing activities including all related reporting

Balance sheet reconciliations

Bank account reconciliations
-
Fixed asset accounting
-
Financial Analysis as needed
-
Month-end closing procedures
-
Prepaid expensing
-
Other accounting and finance activities as directed by Controller

Commission reporting

Government reports related to finance, taxation, and general business

Cost accounting
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and 3-4 years of experience in general ledger accounting is required. Equivalency to the qualification standard will also be considered.

Experience working in a manufacturing company in general accounting a plus

Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word software

Knowledge of Microsoft Access helpful but not mandatory

Effective communication skills mandatory

Able to work in a fast paced environment

Able to work overtime when needed and on-site in Oregon City, OR
