Packaging Engineer II - Dairy & Foodservice - Golden Valley, MN

OVERVIEWThe Dairy Packaging Team is seeking a Packaging Engineer II who will lead package development for the Yoplait Family Favorites and NAF Businesses. In this role, you will have direct business interface with the Dairy Team to deliver the current plan, partner on growth strategies, and build capabilities for delivering future BU growth. You will work to drive growth through packaging by leading development for Innovation, Renovation, HMM, and Sustainability projects.This role will provide technical leadership and business collaboration opportunities to deliver against innovation, core growth, and HMM packaging solutions that bring competitive advantage to General Mills. You will develop the ability to advance technical possibilities, influence across the organization, and develop leadership skills to be successful in both NAR and NAF.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES• Packaging Lead on the Yoplait Adult and Kid Business and Yoplait NAF Business• Drive package development and project execution of Innovation, Core Renovation, HMM, and Sustainability, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders such as Marketing, Sales, Product R&D, Operations, Logistics, Sourcing, and Finance• Develop structural packaging design with:• Knowledge of product/ packaging interactions and results on product protection through shelf life• Knowledge of designing for distribution, channel, and customer requirements• Ability to understand and apply machine material interactions through the design process• Knowledge of packaging material testing for the purpose of specification creation and trouble shooting• Manage and prioritize multiple projects with executional excellence, speed, and agility, managing technical and business needs• Work effectively and safely in lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing environmentMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor Degree in Packaging Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Material Science and 2 years Packaging experience, with experience in packaging applications and packaging materials• Ability to independently manage multiple projects• Experience in business processes – e.g. gPLM, EClips, TOPS, STEP• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, including a bias for action• Minneapolis, MN based position• Travel (~10%)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS• 3+ years Packaging development experience• Demonstrated leadership and initiative with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across functions and levelsADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS• In ITQ, we are relied on to bring expertise and continuity to our business.
