The department is hometo History, Political Science, and African-American Studies.Political science classes examine human behavior through data,political systems, institutions and behaviors. Perimeter Collegehistory courses provide in-depth study of issues, as well as thebackground needed to help students make knowledgeable decisions andrational life choices. Students who study here go on to pursuebachelor’s and advanced degrees and careers in law, business,journalism and education—among other professions. The departmentfeels, as did Aristotle, that the study of politics (as well ashistory and related subjects) is essential to achieving a stableand orderly society—one that develops, advances and improveslives.Position DescriptionPerimeter College invites applications for a lecturer in politicalscience. Lecturer positions are academic year (August-May)non-tenure track appointments, which may be renewed up to six (6)years. This is a teaching-focused position: 100% of the workload isinstruction. Lecturers are responsible for providing 36 credithours of instruction per academic year and maintaining weeklyoffice hours. Perimeter College faculty maintain a campus presence,and the successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitmentto early undergraduate teaching and learning, and the ability tothrive in a highly diverse academic setting.
