We continue to successfully advance toward our vision of being the AI assistant that supports developers throughout the entire SDLC, becoming ubiquitous across developer tools, both first-party and third-party, conversational, personalized, and trusted by enterprises. As we are looking to accelerate the amazing growth and stay ahead of the competition, we are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our expanding effort on modeling focused on developer scenarios. This role will focus on driving data partnership and quality experiences in new and existing capabilities, with a perspective towards high relevance and accuracy. This position requires a deep technical, hands-on Product Manager that is familiar with code, with AI models and techniques, and requires a high degree of creativity and critical thinking. This person will work across many groups and teams-especially with Microsoft devdiv language teams, applied science teams, and with many internal and external partners too. The role weaves together customer knowledge, technical know-how and always with an eye towards delivering high customer satisfaction.Responsibilities• Lead matrixed internal GitHub and Microsoft teams, as well as partners, leveraging a breadth of technical knowledge and industry experience.• Possess knowledge and expertise in coding languages and patterns, as well as in applied science, AI tools, processes, and techniques.• Demonstrate knowledge of customer research, defining and prioritizing customer scenarios and experiences, identifying problems, outlining concepts, and driving validation.• Leveraging data and analytics to capture progress and key results toward team objectives. The ability to systematically gather information from a variety of sources, analyze information, identify implications of data, draw conclusions, generate alternatives and solutions, and evaluate the consequences of choosing each alternative using quality metrics and data.• Works across multiple feature areas (e.g., product, service) as directed. Defines and influences the long-term vision and strategy for the feature areas based on a deep understanding of customer needs, market and user research, the competitive landscape, and GitHub's business goals and strategy.• Influences and engages with cross-functional internal partners, external partners, including early adopting customers, senior leadership, and other key stakeholders, to gather input and garner support for product/service vision, strategy, and roadmap for multiple feature areas• Clearly communicate product benefits to our users and internal stakeholders Specifying, owning, and growing product features through the whole product lifecycle.• Communicate with customers via blog posts, documentation, and engage on Open Source forums• Develop comprehensive end-to-end demos for various developer experiences, collaborate with marketing and PR teams, and occasionally present at conferences.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:• 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management, software development, product design, or related field• OR Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 3+ years experience in product/service/project/program management, software development, product design, or related field• OR equivalent experience.• 2+ years of experience in machine learning and/or AI• 1+ years of experience with OpenAI models.Preferred Qualifications:• Ability to communicate clearly and articulate complex technical problems in a simple and easily understood way.• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and scientists, and influence team direction through leveraging competitive and industry research analysis.• Understanding of NLU/NLP/NLG and language models.Compensation RangeThe base salary range for this job is USD $104,400.00 - USD $276,900.00 /Yr.These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role.
