An overview of this role


GitLab is searching for a results driven leader to join our Talent Acquisition team looking after hiring for our Global Engineering organization.

Our Engineering organization is rapidly scaling, and we are focusing on building a team of talent advisors to meet the growing needs of the business. Currently a team of both full time and contract full life cycle recruiters, this leader will own the recruitment strategy, delivery and development for one of the most critical areas of the team. We are looking for an experienced people leader who delivers results through a high performing, growth minded team culture. 


What you'll do in this role 


  • Build, execute and deliver on Engineering hiring goals through a data driven approach
  • Manage the growth and development of our globally distributed Talent Acquisition team members supporting our Engineering functions
  • Build key relationships within the Engineering organization necessary to be proactive thought partners in hiring and scaling the organization
  • Utilize data to set goals/forecasts and proactively mitigate risk, build efficiency of our recruiting processes and iterate on systems for technical recruitment
  • Advise and influence business leadership on scaleable, best practices for the acquisition of talent
  • Manage to a financial and hiring plan each quarter
  • Partner cross functionally with G&A partners to enable delivery of said financial and hiring plans.
  • Contribute to, and drive forward key strategic project(s) from our Talent Acquisition 3 year strategy 


We're looking for 


  • Experience leading and growing a globally distributed technical recruiting team
  • Experience building key recruitment processes, leveraging data and influencing technical business leaders 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, SAAS environment recruiting top Engineering talent
  • Individuals who thrive in unstructured environments and defaults to curiosity to navigate ambiguity
  • Focused on cultivating a team culture that aligns to our GitLab values and enables growth
  • Adaptability and high learning agility with an openness to new tools and technologies
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong contributor to a collaborative team environment, rooted in GitLab values

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.


Colorado/Washington pay range

$121,000—$246,200 USD

California/New York/New Jersey pay range

$121,000—$259,200 USD
