The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Head of PMO and Strategic Planning and collaborating with the leadership team, the Global Business Operations Lead will drive operational processes and manage ongoing day-to-day activities in support of Ancestry’s goals to continue to provide best-in-class Family History and consumer genomics products. The successful candidate will build and optimize processes in order to ensure efficient and effective business operations, and support leaders across the organization to execute on the strategic direction outlined and agreed upon by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Board of Directors (BOD). We are looking for a self-starter with the ability to anticipate, drive, accelerate, and partner, who enjoys working with a dynamic, fast-paced team, and approaches their work with passion and dedication.

This position can be fully remote from any of our approved locations, hybrid, or in the office at our Lehi, UT or San Francisco, CA locations.

What you will do:

  • Work closely with the Head of PMO and Strategic Planning and Senior Leadership Team on special projects

  • Manage day-to-day activities in support of strategic goals

  • Manage the Board meeting preparation process, including the development of the board meeting materials and strategy documents, and gathering feedback from leadership members before and after the meetings

  • Drive the identification and implementation of improvements in operating reviews, business updates, etc. in partnership with functional leaders

  • Support the ongoing strategic planning process, including corporate strategy, corporate development opportunities, and competitive analysis

  • Draft meeting agendas with input from other team members, document meeting decisions and agreements

  • Drive accountability of action items by monitoring progress against deadlines and milestones (e.g. board meetings, quarterly business reviews, strategic planning, etc.), and ensuring follow through

  • Partner with finance, analytics, and business teams to drive the implementation of programmatic frameworks and OKRs


Who you are:

  • Minimum of a BA or BS; MBA or equivalent a plus

  • 7+ years of experience and successful track record managing priorities and ensuring strategic execution within a large functional department or at the company level

  • Keen analytical, organizational, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and project management skills

  • Excellent communication, story-telling, writing and relationship building skills, with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated success in a collaborative, entrepreneurial and dynamic work environment where team members are open, flexible, and adaptable to the needs of the organization

  • Proven ability to create, implement and improve processes

  • Intellectual curiosity, integrity and ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment essential

  • Experience in consumer business required, experience in a regulated environment is a plus

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $123,000 - $233,000 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision. The actual salary will vary by geographic region and job experience. We will share detailed compensation data for a specific location during the recruiting process.
