Principal Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

GoodData is looking for a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team. We are located in Brno and Prague.

Our Team

The infrastructure team is part of GoodData Engineering and is responsible for the basic operation of all services of the GoodData cloud-based SaaS platforms hosted on a dedicated private cloud and public cloud infrastructure using cutting-edge open-source technologies. The team's mission is to design, implement, and operate infrastructure for GoodData products.

The team is taking care of a plethora of services focused on operations, deployment, and security for our SaaS platform hosted in our hybrid cloud. We are right in the center of the development and operations - we integrate and operate various technologies together into a functional SaaS product. We do expect engineers who have experience in operations, DevOPS, SRE, are eager to learn some new technologies as we do not only maintain current infrastructure but there is quite a lot of effort put into extending it with new technologies.

What will you do?

• Operate multiple existing services and keep our systems up to date.

• Ensure smooth integration with the underlying cloud platform and logging, monitoring, and alerting systems.

• Work with a variety of modern cloud/devops technologies, including the design of new solutions (Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Terraform, Ansible, Vault).

• Ad-hoc troubleshooting of various technologies, ranging from virtual machines, and databases, to Kubernetes microservices and public cloud services.

• Work with a team of great people and professionals.

About you

• 3+ years experience in DevOPS/SRE/operations/administration.

• Strong knowledge of Linux, good general troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Knowledge about databases, virtualization, Kubernetes, logging/monitoring/alerting solutions.

• Ability to work in various scripting/programming languages, like Bash or Python.

• Strong ownership, and ability to drive assigned projects/tasks.

It is nice if you have

• Experience with operations and automation of distributed platforms under 24x7 SLAs.

• Knowledge of terraform/ansible/puppet.

• Familiarity with Grafana stack (loki/mimir/tempo), Prometheus, Icinga, and Splunk.

• Know a little bit about every technology that was mentioned before.
