We have the highest customer retention rates in our industry because no one works harder than we do to ensure our customers' success.Our Mission StatementTo enable state and local governments to modernize their citizens and business transactions through innovative SaaS solutions and seamless payments.We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mid-Level Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS, automation, and maintaining the reliability and performance of our cloud-based services. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, scalability, and efficiency of our infrastructure while implementing best practices and innovative solutions.Responsibilities:• Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable AWS infrastructure.• Monitoring and Incident Response: Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to ensure quick response to any incidents. Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.• On-Call Rotation: Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical systems and infrastructure.• Automation: Create and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar. Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.• Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize system performance. Work on capacity planning and scaling strategies to handle growth efficiently.• Security: Implement and maintain security best practices across the AWS infrastructure. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and policies.• Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of new features and services.• Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation of the infrastructure, processes, and procedures. Ensure knowledge sharing across the team.Requirements:• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or a related field.• AWS Expertise: In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM.• Automation Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar. Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.• Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar.• CI/CD: Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.• Networking: Strong understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, load balancing, VPNs, and firewalls.• Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Preferred Qualifications:• Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar certifications.• Containerization: Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes or ECS.• Database Management: Familiarity with database management and optimization, particularly in AWS RDS or DynamoDB.• Agile Methodologies: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.Compensation & Benefits• $140,000 - $155,000 annual base• Remote Opportunities (Some state restrictions – see below)• Leadership and career development opportunities• Competitive insurance (medical, dental, vision, and voluntary life & disability)• Mental health benefits• 401(k) plan with company match• Paid holidays• Flexible PTO - no accruals• Generous paid parental leave• Monthly work from home stipendWhile we are a remote organization we do have restrictions in a few states: Unfortunately, we cannot hire in these select locations: Arizona, Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia, WisconsinThe pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future.
