One of California's leading Employment Law boutique law firms is looking for labor and employment attorneys with demonstrated academic and professional success and three to six years of experience to join their esteemed practice. Ideal candidates will have experience managing all aspects of employment litigation including written discovery, taking depositions, motion practice, and settlement negotiation and/or trial preparation. Attorneys are trusted with a significant amount of responsibility as the direct contact with the firm's clients, providing them with advice, drafting various memorandums and reports for workplace investigations, and interviewing witnesses. This is a great opportunity for attorneys looking to advance their career with a well-recognized law firm.Responsibilies• Advising public sector and non-profit employers on personnel and employment matters in all areas of California labor and employment laws• Defending lawsuits in state and federal court concerning discrimination, harassment and retaliation, wrongful termination, whistleblower cases, and related matters• Participating in all aspects of labor relations, including negotiating labor agreements, responding to grievances, representing clients in discipline and contract labor arbitrations, preparing position statements in response to unfair labor practice charges and representing clients in administrative hearings before PERB• Participating in workplace investigations and supporting the firm’s role as a neutral, outside investigator, including interviewing witnesses, reviewing relevant records, drafting investigator reports and preparing related communications to public legislative bodiesQualifications:• J.D. from an accredited law school• Member and in good standing of the California State Bar• 3-6 years of litigation experience in labor and employment disputes• Experience in legal research and drafting complaints, motions, briefs, memorandums, discovery, and other legal correspondence• Superior written and oral communication skills• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks throughout litigation while meeting deadlines efficiently• Outstanding interpersonal skills, works well on a teamBenefits:• Well-respected firm recognized for their legal writing and high stakes cases• Competitive compensation and bonuses• Flexible hybrid work schedule• Health and dental insurance• 401(k) matching and profit sharing• FSA and commuter benefit programsTo apply, please forward your resume in confidence to Jordan at jordan.wheeler@gogpac.com, or reach out directly for more information.
