Quality Engineering Manager

The Quality Engineering Manager at Granicus works to drive our teams to produce excellent and high quality software and works with our smart, driven engineers to enable their learning and growth. A Quality Engineering Manager at Granicus will embody these values and ensure they are lived and breathed by their team. 

In addition to our values a Quality Engineering Manager will champion continuously improving  quality knowledge sharing, and a foster a supportive learning environment. This role will allow you to write test code, mentor engineers, and think strategically. Your ideas about culture, roadmaps, and technical decisions of all sizes will be highly valued. Our Quality Engineering Manager will love to collaborate on code and high level thinking, thinks automation is the way to go and cares deeply about people management.



What your impact will look like here
  • Define and manage you teams' goals, career path development and training plans
  • Interview and recruit new employees
  • Define and manage onboarding plans for new hires
  • Ensure the teams priorities are aligned with the business's priorities
  • Assist the product team in defining requirements, estimating new work and planning roadmaps
  • Ensure tests are executed in a timely manner
  • Continuously improve the teams' processes around testing and the SDLC
  • Oversee and validate testing related solutions
  • Provide technical insight to executive decision makers
  • Report on key performance indicators for the teams, including execution against objectives, application uptime, and agile process health
  • Facilitate collaboration between testers and other teams/staff
  • Represent engineering interests in interactions with product management, security, and technical operations leaders

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or 10 plus years of experience 
  • Exceptional communication skills and experience interacting with all levels of the organization 
  • Solid understanding of Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management 
  • Strong knowledge of data Center infrastructure and operating systems 
  • Experience in leading complex technology incidents, preferably in a SaaS based environment  
  • During the last three months, you would have:  
  • Acted as the incident commander during major incidents.  
  • Help implement an updated paging solution for incident management  
  • Identified gaps in our incident process and helped implement solutions to fill those gaps  
  • Certification in ITIL 
  • Proven organizational skill with the ability to develop a detailed work plan to ensure project success 
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues 
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; handle multiple priorities
