We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team. The Senior Tax Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the company's tax obligations are met accurately and timely, and will provide valuable insights to optimize tax positions.Job Title: Senior Tax AccountantSalary: 110-125KLocation: Suffolk CountyJob Type: Full-TimeDepartment: TaxReports to: Partner of firmJob Summary:Key Responsibilities:• Tax Compliance: Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations.• Tax Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions.• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements in accordance with ASC 740.• Research and Analysis: Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide technical tax advice to the management team.• Audit Support: Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities, providing documentation and support during tax audits.• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the tax function.• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, and legal, to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior tax accountants and other team members.Qualifications:• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification required; advanced degree (e.g., MST) preferred.• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate tax.• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
