Green Key resources is representing a health insurance company who is seeking a Sr. Manager of Accounts Payable s to join their team. As of now, this position is fully remote, but candidates must be willing to go into the Tempe, AZ office 2 days a week, when it reopens in September. This is a Monday - Friday, day shift.
As the AP Manager, you will play a critical role in building strategies, developing metrics, and leading projects to support our annual goals. You will be responsible for managing the AP and Travel and Expense (T&E) functions and overseeing the daily operations of the team. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build a strategic roadmap for the AP teams to optimize existing processes and drive efficiencies.
- Develop metrics and targets to measure the team's contribution to financial goals.
- Lead strategic projects that align with the finance and accounting team's annual objectives.
- Manage the AP and T&E functions and provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Oversee the end-to-end AP and T&E process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established timelines.
- Collaborate with internal partners and vendors to streamline vendor setup, invoice processing, and payment workflows.
- Refresh the existing T&E program by reviewing processes, policies, and system configurations.
- Continuously improve the AP and T&E functions, leveraging existing processes and implementing new ones to achieve operational excellence.
- Educate partners and vendors about AP and T&E processes and requirements.
- Establish processes to ensure operational excellence in the AP function.
- Create, operationalize, and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the AP and T&E functions.
Required Education and Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, including individual contributor roles.
- 3+ years of management experience, preferably in an AP or finance-related role.
- Experience managing company Travel and Expense (T&E) programs.
- Proficiency in AP systems (e.g., Tipalti), T&E systems (e.g., SAP Concur), and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
- Experience leading AP and T&E functions through audits.
- Strong knowledge of operations and accounting principles related to AP and T&E compliance.
- Familiarity with audit support, month-end close entries and reconciliations, and daily AP operations.
- Experience utilizing AP and T&E systems to promote policy/process compliance and reduce manual workload.
- Experience with 1099 consolidation, management, and filing.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience working in a health insurance or healthcare company.
- Previous experience managing AP and T&E systems.
- Prior experience in a high-growth company.
- Experience implementing Purchase Order systems/processes and AP systems.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
