The Griffith Centre for Social and Cultural Research (GCSCR) is dedicated to increasing our understanding of current challenges facing the modern world. Through the application of innovative humanities and social science research, incorporating the knowledge of academics from a broad range of interrelated disciplines, we are at the cutting edge of humanities and social science discourse.
The Centre is seeking a Research Fellow to contribute to a new ARC Discovery Project, ‘Voice and Belonging: Pathways to inclusion for new migrant communities through media’. The position is required to provide high level research assistance, project management and intellectual contribution to the project as directed by the Chief Investigators.

This is a fixed term (available until June 2027), 50% part-time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full-time equivalent base salary for a Research Fellow, Grade 1 is in the range $86,526 - $101,354 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $101,236 - $118,585 per annum.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in a cognate or relevant field. As per the funding application, you will be an experienced researcher from a culturally and linguistically diverse community (CALD); with preference given to scholars from migrant communities due to the nature of this project.
