Growth Product Manager, Monetization

Marco Polo is a video chat app created for one simple and significant purpose—to help people feel close.


We're currently seeking a Senior Product Manager of Monetization to help us drive monetization and member engagement in our core business. This high-profile role will play an instrumental part in seeking industry leading strategies that deliver highly valued products to our growing base of passionate subscribers.  


A great candidate for this role is a creative and analytical thinker who gets inspiration both from users and data. They are passionate about translating our purpose into experiences that delight and grow our base of paying subscribers. This role reports directly to our Head of Monetization.

In this position, you will:

  • Build valued subscription products:  You’ll be responsible for managing and expanding our current subscription products. You’ll combine research and testing insights to unearth product interactions and features that contribute to long term growth of our subscriber base. You’ll work directly with design, research and engineering teams to test key hypotheses and deliver real business impact.
  • Own subscriber metrics: You will be deeply knowledgeable about our business metrics including upsell, renewal and member satisfaction. You’ll continuously find ways to deepen your understanding and uncover new insights and areas of opportunity.
  • Provide transparency and visibility: As the owner of the subscriber metrics, you’ll proactively communicate our plans and progress. You’ll proactively find ways to make our process transparent to others in the organization. As part of this, you’ll ensure your knowledge is shared across the company - educating others on what’s working, what isn’t and key learnings.

Ideally, you have:

  • 5+ years of relevant Product Management experience, 2+ years focused on driving Monetization or Engagement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated Product Management experience working on areas such as conversion, engagement and audience segmentation.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (we use Amplitude) coupled with the ability to interpret data findings and turn them into actionable business insights.
  • A strong track record of seeking alignment and building strong partnerships with Engineering, Design, Data Analytics and Marketing teams.
  • Startup/E-Commerce/SaaS experience is a plus.

  • Compensation: Our cash compensation package is made of up two components - base pay and equity in the company. The target salary for this position is $160,000 to $190,000 per year. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including knowledge, skills, and experience, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
