leading force to actualize our vision by developing and implementing strategies to support our culture, create a sense of belonging, promote inclusive leadership, provide equitable care, and leverage and increase workforce diversity.The Director acts as a highly visible, strategic partner to SCA leaders across the country and is a member of the Office of the CEO.Since 2016, SCA has invested in a wide range of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIBs) initiatives.Founded by SCA's then-SVP and now-CEO, SCA DIBs is central to our culture and the way we do business.Since the inception of DIBs with the creation of the Women's Leadership Network, SCA has developed 6 Teammate Resource Groups (TRGs), hosted more than 10 events, provided training to 600teammates, elevated diverse voices, traveled on medical mission trips, and conducted dozens of listening sessions to better understand the needs of our diverse and talented workforce.The Teammate Resource Groups actively engage teammates from across the enterprise and today include:SCA Women's Network, SCA Serves (Military and Veterans), SCA PRIDE (LGBTQ+), SCA Stigma Free (Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders), SCA Belonging & Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, we are seeking a highly talented individual with strong leadership, program development, program management, communication, and influencing skills.The successful candidate with leverage experience in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion space to assume responsibility for the overall strategy, planning, organization, and execution of SCA DIBs.Develop long-term plan, programs, processes, and metrics to drive DIBs in service of our mission.Develop a comprehensive, cohesive, multi-year strategy to promote and expand SCA DIBs.Enhance engagement in DIBs across the enterprise, with a specific focus on teammates that work in the surgical facilities.Establish methods, metrics, and benchmarks for measuring progress and continuously improving our DIBs efforts.Create learning and development experiences to grow leadership who model and drive inclusive behaviors.Create and grow meaningful events and activations that encourage, connect, and inspire SCA teammates to embrace DIBs.Engage with the Teammate Resource Groups (TRGs), new and existing initiatives, long-term plan, and budget for all DIBs initiatives.Oversee program management for SCA TRGs by advising on strategic plans, advocating for resources, and ensuring accountability and execution.Create and moderate safe spaces for honest and practice dialogue regarding DIBs while challenging conventional wisdom.Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including HR, Talent Acquisition, Communications, Field Operations leaders, Optum Diversity resources and others to implement best practices and drive enterprise adoption.Serve as a strategic partner to the Office of the CEO and SCA leaders nationwide with a focus on leveraging DIBs to drive our mission internally and externally.Work closely with HR and Talent Acquisition to develop and manage programs to diversify talent pipelines.Partner with HR to develop and maintain policies and programs to attract, engage, retain, and promote a diverse workforce with DIBs serving as a fundamental element of professional development throughout the teammate journey.Understand and leverage, when appropriate, diversity resources available across the broader OptumHealth, Optum and UHG landscape.Advise and Influence the SCA Executive Leadership Team and facility leaders as a subject-matter expert on DIBs.Consult on barriers and opportunities to advance DIBs throughout the enterprise.Review policies, procedures, and programs to ensure equity in our business practices.Proactively represent SCA by facilitating awareness of SCA DIBs, provide consultation and coaching to leaders and teammates on DIBs priorities, capabilities, offerings, and best practices.Demonstrate and role model inclusive leadership and provide coaching to leaders and manage to enhance their capability to be inclusive leaders and allies and learn to build and retain diverse teams.QualificationsQualifications, Experience, & Education:2years both developing and managing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging programs for a large organization.5years of experience as a highly competent, strategic program manager and developer with an executive-level interface and high degree of executive influence.5years effectively navigating a highly matrixed, multi-state / multinational organization to drive outcomesBachelor's degree, or the equivalent industry experience, requiredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong understanding of concepts and metrics related to DIBs, cultural competence, and bias with the adjacent training and education.Must be comfortable and knowledge regarding DIBs data collection and analysis, inclusive of reporting and budgeting; can use available data and investment to inform decisions and strategy recommendations and execution.Knowledge of best practices and innovative talent trends in the marketplace; ability to challenge accepted wisdom.Ability to collaborate and work successfully across all levels of the organization, affiliated partners, and community representatives, demonstrating excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.Ability to perform complex tasks seamlessly, often switching between high-level strategy and helping with supporting tasks as needed to achieve success.Insightful global and cultural awareness with proven track record of leading company-wide initiatives with wide range of stakeholders.Location & Travel:The preferred location is Deerfield, IL (Chicagoland area), but there is the potential to be based in a remote location.Upon removal of any COVID-related travel restrictions and confirmation that travel can be conducted safely, travel will resume for this role.Travel time can vary but may require up to 25%.SCA
