Harvey is seeking a Head of Revenue Accounting, reporting to the Controller to build and lead our revenue accounting and accounts receivable teams. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of revenue accounting and revenue accounting operations globally. This role requires a deep understanding of revenue recognition principles and operational efficiency in a high growth environment. The ideal candidate is data driven, highly inquisitive and collaborative, with a proven track record in leading high performing teams through process transformation.
Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing Revenue Accounting and AR team
Build and lead the global revenue accounting function, ensuring accuracy, data quality, and timeliness of results
Partner with Rev Ops and Business Systems to design and build GTM systems and process, including CPQ, SFDC, self-serve capabilities, billing platform, usage based pricing models with strong bias toward automation and scale
Work closely with sales, legal, Rev Ops, deal desk and finance teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition interpretations and efficient order-to-cash operations, including order management and sales compensation calculations
Participate in developing and scaling order-to-cash systems, processes, and controls, leading transformation initiatives to achieve desired outcomes
Build strong professional relationships with key business partners, external auditors, and the executive team, providing timely and high-quality communication and guidance
Provide expertise on all revenue recognition practices and decisions for accounting, forecasting, sales, product management, legal and customer support
Manage revenue related support provided to external auditors for annual audits
Research and document complex revenue accounting matters in technical memos
Review accuracy of agreements, signed quotes, purchase order details including terms, customer or partner billing instructions, shipping, product, pricing, and/or discounts
Manage the AR, Credit and Collections process
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field
10+ years of experience, including Public Accounting and 7+ years of experience in revenue accounting at high-growth tech companies
Leadership experience to align project goals with organization and sponsor goals, while managing ambiguity, risk, and changing the direction of projects and strategies
Acute business acumen and understanding of ACS 606 Revenue issues and challenges
Exposure and understanding of consumption-based revenue accounting under ASC 606 and relevant Software and SaaS ASC 606 topics
Experience with Usage Based Pricing models and to self-serve + sales-led revenue motions
