The Job Home Box Office, Inc. seeks a Financial Analyst - DTC US Expense for the HBO General Inc.- Finance & Analysis department... The Financial Analyst will be an integral member of the Direct to Consumer (DTC) Finance team and support the preparation of accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting, planning and analysis. This role is a key participant in the development and preparation of the forecast, long-range financial plans, and operating budgets. Knowledge and understanding of the principles and theories of finance, statistics, accounting and other related disciplines to plan, design and conduct financial business analyses are critical for this role. The Daily • Support the preparation of the monthly staff forecast/related analysis, budget, re-estimate, and long-range financial plan. Ensuring understanding of key business drivers, assumptions, trends, risks and opportunities • Update the staffing plan model with proper compensation, open heads expectations and thoroughly review all assumptions to properly project P&L impact. Forecast non-comp based on trends and other assumptions • Continually monitor and track headcount changes while partnering with HR to ensure reasonableness of hiring ramp • Track actuals against operating plans and prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date variance analysis for management and business leads • Assist in the preparation of financial analyses of staff and OpEx related to forecast, budget and strategic business plans and other ad hoc initiatives, through development of detailed financial and operating models • Understand the key drivers of the DTC business, analyze and summarize the latest financial forecast for communication to leadership • Develop and improve recurring reporting processes and assist in KPI preparation and analysis; continuously look to increase efficiency through processes automation • Establish business relationships and collaborate across departments, including operations, HR, accounting and other finance partners The Essentials • BA/BS degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Economics • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience including forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis transaction modeling, research gathering, and overall FP&A • Demonstrated analytical and modeling skills with sound knowledge of corporate finance and accounting • Proven ability to mine and manipulate data, identify and analyze trends, KPI-s and business drivers • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success of working in teams and ability to work with all levels • Highly motivated with ability to manage competing priorities and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment • Working knowledge of and prior experience with standard financial applications (Hyperion Essbase or related) preferred • Results-oriented with strong sense of urgency and excellent follow-through • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Knowledge and passion for Media/Entertainment industry a plus Requisition # 187975BR Area of Interest Finance/Accounting Industry Film Production and Distribution Location United States - New York - New York Position Type Full Time Business Unit HBO Finance Company Overview WarnerMedia is a leading media and entertainment company that creates and distributes premium and popular content from a diverse array of talented storytellers and journalists to global audiences through its consumer brands including: HBO, HBO Max, Warner Bros., TNT, TBS, truTV, CNN, DC Entertainment, New Line, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Turner Classic Movies and others.
