Job Description: Lead Backend Developer (CommerceTools & Node.js)Location: Valhalla NYWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Backend Developer to join our team and drive the development of our innovative CommerceTools and Node.js (Express) solutions.Role Overview:As the Lead Backend Developer, you will play a pivotal role in leading and mentoring a team of developers. You will be responsible for designing and developing scalable e-commerce solutions using CommerceTools and Node.js (Express), and implementing backend services, APIs, and integrations to support business functions and customer needs.Key Responsibilities:• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of developers, providing guidance and support in CommerceTools and Node.js (Express) development. Foster a collaborative and innovative development environment, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.• Solution Design and Development: Design and develop scalable e-commerce solutions utilizing CommerceTools and Node.js (Express). Ensure the solutions meet business requirements and are aligned with industry best practices.• Backend Services and APIs: Implement and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations to support various business functions and customer requirements. Ensure robust and efficient performance of these services.• Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in Node.js and the Express framework. Apply a deep understanding of server-side development and RESTful APIs to drive the technical direction of projects.• Code Quality and Reviews: Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to coding standards. Uphold high standards of code quality and maintainability.Qualifications:• Experience: Proven experience in leading development teams and designing scalable e-commerce solutions using CommerceTools and Node.js (Express).• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express framework, with a deep understanding of server-side development and RESTful APIs.• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.• Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and constructive feedback to team members.• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.Preferred Qualifications:• Experience with other e-commerce platforms and technologies.• Familiarity with cloud services and containerization (e.g., AWS, Docker).• Knowledge of front-end technologies and integration with backend services.• 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on CommerceTools and Node.js (Express).• Extensive experience with CommerceTools, including configuring, customizing, and integrating CommerceTools solutions.• Familiarity with frontend technologies (e.g., React, Vue.js) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.• Proven experience in leading development teams and managing technical projects.
