Head of Developer Advocacy

You'll be working with a talented team of people who have built highly successful companies and globally-distributed systems at companies such as AWS, Google, Microsoft, Okta, Oracle, Cloudera, MongoDB, NewRelic and Twitter.

We have a career-defining opportunity to lead Developer Advocacy at Fauna. We're looking for a seasoned engineer and DA leader who is passionate about modern application development and databases. Someone who loves to build teams and modern software applications, and share their enthusiasm with the developer community.

In this role, you and your team will be responsible for empowering thousands of developers to use Fauna to build modern applications through sample applications, developer tooling, code samples, blogs, development workshops, live streams, and speaking engagements. You will use your deep technical expertise, strong writing skills and public speaking abilities to create compelling technical content, educate customers, engage with the developer community, and gather feedback to drive the product roadmap. You will work closely with Product and Marketing to set the DA strategy and roadmap and implement processes to deliver on that strategy while coaching and growing a world-class DA team.

As a part of the Product team, reporting to the VP of Product, you will work closely with the Product Management, Engineering, Sales and Marketing teams to discover and nurture new avenues for developer engagement and help guide the product roadmap and company strategy. You will be creative in your approach, and develop expertise in the use of Fauna and best practices around it. You will frequently be the first point of contact with Fauna for developers at conferences, meet-ups and elsewhere in the community - both on and offline.

What You and your team will do:

Write production-quality code examples, sample apps and tooling to improve developer's learning experience and adoption of Fauna.
Educate and empower developers, give technical workshops, develop tutorials, and deliver webinars and live streams
Represent Fauna at conferences and meetups where you'll present engaging and thoughtful content that you created.
Analyze effectiveness of Developer Advocacy and education and continually strategize and iterate.
Mentor and grow a world-class DA team

What You Will Bring:

Deep experience in using different databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB
Deep experience building modern apps using modern technologies such as a serverless, edge computing, event-driven architecture
Development experience in one or more popular languages such as - C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc...
Strong skills in both written/verbal English, wit, humor, and a collaborative sense to your content creation process
The ability to translate technical concepts into terms that can be easily understood both in written and verbal forms
Public speaking experience and desire to present in small and large groups (online and offline)
