Head of Product Development - job 1 of 2

Working with the CEO and executive team as Parabol’s Head of Product Development, you’ll lead Parabol’s Product department—made up of our integrated development and design teams—in the creation and maintenance of our product beloved by hundreds of thousands of users and help our organization reach new heights as we enhance Parabol to serve more kinds of teams. You’ll be able to work anywhere in the world; stewarding a remote-first culture that you’ll be proud of and eager to invite others to join.






Your Mission:


  • Lead the building and maintenance of our product
  • Formulate company strategy with other leaders, and break down the plan into goals, budgetary requirements, resource needs, and units of work executable by your Product organization
  • Grow and develop Parabol’s bench of technical talent by working with internal and external recruiters and talent sources
  • Identify and coach changes to remove road blocks that prevent members from collaborating well with each other

 


Your Qualifications:


  • Several years experience leading teams of teams of developers and other technical roles using agile methodology, without practicing orthodoxy from any one particular framework
  • Has applied so-called “new ways of working” such as self-organization (e.g. Holacracy, Sociocracy, Humanocracy), Liberating Structures, Open Space Technology, Beyond Budgeting, etc.
  • A career history of direct contributions to software development (especially open-source software) and/or SaaS development preferred
  • Familiarity with SaaS architecture and business model
