Head of Sales and Marketing

THE OPPORTUNITY

At FACILITY OPTIMIZATION SOLUTIONS, LLC (FOS), it's all about the people. With exceedingly low turnover rates, we're constantly growing, and that's where this new opportunity comes in – for a HEAD OF SALES & MARKETING with a focus on SAAS SALES.

We currently have two fully developed products in FOScore®and Simplebid® and a new product coming online in 2024. Your primary focus is on developing and growing a competitive sales team and providing strategic direction to the marketing team that helps advance FOS in achieving our 10 year revenue plan.

This is a new, executive-level position within our firm and will require industry knowledge of construction, facilities/asset management, and related software products. It can be filled remotely in any state in the US.

Key attributes of the Head of Sales & Marketing include:

STRATEGIST

DEFINE, ARTICULATE AND IMPLEMENT strategy and direction for our SaaS products including sales and marketing, working closely with the company's leadership and other strategic partners.

LEADER

BUILD COMPETITIVE SALES AND MARKETING TEAMS, which includes determining staffing needs in addition to the recruitment of sales and marketing talent capable of both selling subscription services and one-time software purchases.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

SALES

Implement a growth-oriented strategic business plan that includes necessary resources and focuses on priorities required to grow our SaaS lines and consistently achieve profitable business objectives.

  • Deliver on firm's short and long-term growth priorities partnering with leadership and other team members including ensuring that we clearly differentiating the product from our competition focusing on our clear and compelling value proposition
  • Lead sales team to achieve expected top line growth objectives for new sales to be set with firm leadership, and work with leadership to develop and manage the sales budget to achieve profitable returns
  • Lead strategies and set goals for client relationship managers to ensure retention of existing customers
  • Establish and implement short and long-range sales and marketing plans that establish goals, objectives and policies. Recommend operational improvements as necessary through KPIs
  • Develop a sales methodology to train the sales team and identify key indicators that will help guide the sales process
  • Review and advise on current software pricing strategies for FOScore® and Simplebid® as they relate to industry competitiveness. Also, be instrumental in the development of pricing for new products developed based on market demand.

MARKETING

Direct and oversee the marketing function to build brand awareness and drive new business.

  • Research and develop plans which identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and expansion of new target markets to promote existing and new software products to meet or exceed demand generation and revenue targets
  • Plan, coordinate, and engage client communication efforts, to include public relations and community outreach including online and onsite events like webinars, trade shows and customer events
  • Manage the top strategic client relationships while coaching and guiding team on entire client portfolio and new business opportunities
  • Participate in the development of new project proposals in terms of the go/no-go decisions, proposal schedule, and opportunity review/prioritization for projects on the horizon
  • Work with leadership team to develop five and ten-year business plans and software sales strategies, set annual sales growth targets for sales staff and set staffing needs to achieve goals.
  • Lead marketing team to achieve expected top line growth objectives

Other duties as assigned including but not limited to the following:

  • Work with the sales and marketing teams to create PR, media and marketing opportunities
  • Ensure brand alignment with all campaigns, assets, communications, messaging and actions
  • Provide guidance and leadership to sales and marketing staff on career growth and development, including relevant training
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure that they are appropriately supporting and coordinating bid activity.

Required skills and experience:

  • A minimum of 12 years of related work experience including software sales and marketing is required with a proven track record of profitably growing the top line
  • Demonstrated innovation in approaches to sales and marketing
  • Prior experience in startups and/or working for a SaaS company preferred
  • Experience speaking to technical and non-technical executives
  • Strong business acumen and ability to develop, influence, and execute strategy
  • Communicates authentically and respectfully
  • Business development experience is preferred
  • Related experience working in software sales for the facilities management/construction industries preferred
  • At least 20% travel will be required with a higher travel level during onboarding

The salary range for this position is $117,311 – 139,859 annually. This salary range is the range we believe is the anticipated range of possible base compensation at the timing of the posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for the position. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We offer a full benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage and flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances.
