Role Summary:
Reporting to the head of the Transformation Office, the head of Strategy Realization is a key leadership role accountable for articulating and realizing value for the organization’s largest change efforts. Leads a team of professionals that provide hands on support and expertise to ensure change initiatives have clearly articulated business cases, business objectives, measurable key results (OKRs) and value trees.
Works closely with Program Portfolio Managers, Business and Finance partners to understand changes to vision and ensures that value and vision are aligned across the change lifecycle (i.e., strategy to execution). Prepares and presents value realization reports/insights, including both financial and non-financial benefits, to appropriate governing authorities. Develops and communicates value realization strategy, including specific milestones required to deliver business benefit targets. This role will also provide thought leadership and support the formulation of strategy and practices for the Transformation Office, including buildout of new functions.
Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for engaging and influencing stakeholders to ensure articulation, tracking and delivery of business value (both financial and non-financial benefits). Obtains sign off on expected value from the initiative.
  • Responsible for oversight of a business unit portfolio of project and programs delivered through multiple teams. These teams are led by portfolio managers who are the primary contacts for internal clients and groups within the organization.
  • Proactively manages portfolio value realization across multiple teams of program and project managers.
  • Monitors market changes and stakeholder needs; recommends plan adjustments to meet changing needs that optimize costs, benefits, and speed of delivery.
  • Collaborates with leaders across the organization to develop business cases, OKRs and value trees.
  • Develops and educates the organization on value realization best practices.
  • Proactively manages value realization efforts for multiple change initiatives.
  • Ensures value realization delivery conforms with company methodologies and standards.
  • Proactively monitors progress in achieving business value realization targets.
  • Communicates delivery risks and value impacts to respective business/planning leads as part of the value tracking process
  • Executes root cause analysis if initiative is off-track and suggest corrective actions
  • Defines & secures ownership for KPIs to measure transformation success and align to priorities
  • Understands the bottom-up business case details including all KPI baselines and targets and guides teams in setting these metrics
  • Leads value realization meetings for business unit portfolios and governing bodies where appropriate, including progress in achieving benefit targets, variances from plan and overall impact to business case. Facilitates risk mitigation for achievement of business value.
  • Recruits, directs, motivates, and develops a team, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth, and their ability to build and sustain a high-performing, strategically focused workforce. Accountable for the financial and human resources to include budgeting, staffing resources, etc.
  • Strategizes and develops tools and training methods to enable successful execution throughout the enterprise. Trains and coaches sponsor and project teams in value realization and promotes adoption of best practices.
  • Strategizes, develops, and disseminates tools and training to enable adoption of business value practices throughout the enterprise.
Typical Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND -12+ years of total relevant work experience and 5+ years of management experience
  • Expertise in value management, tracking and communication
  • Program management and facilitation capabilities
  • Financial acumen and analytical skills allied with creative and critical thinking
  • Adaptability to tackle challenges, identify risks, and suggest solutions
  • Cross-functional stakeholder management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expert in translating business strategy into executable work plans that help an enterprise reach its objectives and deliver outcomes, preferably within the financial services industry
  • Experience leading enterprise-level process optimization and business architecture work, such as designing and optimizing client experience journeys
  • Subject matter expertise or experience implementing a PPM platform, such as Clarity or Planview
  • Professional work experience within a Transformation Office, Enterprise Change Office, Strategy Realization Office, Business Process Management function and/or management consulting firm
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for remote work up to two days a week. Full time remote may be considered for qualified applicants.
FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Regional Requirements:
Wage Transparency Disclosure* -
Colorado and the State of Washington: $167,000 - $285,000 Annual
California and New York: $208,000 - $350,000 Annual
District of Columbia: $183,000 - $313,000 Annual
  • Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance. Salary range disclosure as required by sb19-085 when hiring in Colorado, S9427A when hiring in New York, SB 1162 when hiring in California, and SB 5761 when hiring in the State of Washington.
