Brief Job Description
Responsible for the organization, development, and leadership of a varsity intercollegiate wrestling program in support of the mission and core values of the Athletic Department and Buffalo State College. Duties include hiring staff; recruiting and retaining top prospective student-athletes; establishing a competitive schedule; coordinating practice planning, skill development, and designing strategies which prepare team for competition; mentoring student-athletes; overseeing development initiatives; organizing camps; and budget management; collaborates with numerous athletic and College units; demonstrates adherence to College, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. The head women’s wrestling coach is responsible for all aspects of coaching and administering the wrestling program. Will perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics that are consistent with the skills and abilities related to this position and that address the College’s strategic goals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree; experience coaching wrestling including experience at an educational institution. Knowledge of recruiting and strategies to retain quality student-athletes. Excellent communication and organizational skills. A commitment to the values of NCAA Division III Athletics. Experience in a position of leadership and mentoring.
