Position Description:
The Organizational Development Specialist serves as an internal consultant and provides organizational development interventions such as new leader transitions, survey analysis, and team interventions to Hensel Phelps leadership and staff. The role will include group facilitation, leadership assessment and development, performance coaching, change management efforts, and developing and analyzing metrics.
Position Qualifications:
• B.A. or Master's degree in Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, Human Resources, or related field of study
• 2-3 years of experience in Organizational Development.
• 1-2 years of facilitation experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Analytical and strategic thinking skills as well as strong ability to analyze and interpret data.
• Excellent communication skills and strong rapport and relationship building skills.
• Experience in instructional design and development, adult learning styles, and adapting to group dynamics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and drive change within teams.
• Willingness to adapt based on business needs.
Essential Duties:
Coaching and Team Engagements
• Provides formal and informal coaching, team development support, and consultation with leaders at all levels to assure alignment with the organization's strategic plans.
• Implement team interventions at multiple employee levels through a variety of approaches including focus groups, surveys, individual interviews, and team building activities.
• Facilitate New Leadership Transitions, New Team Formations, strategic planning, and partnering sessions.
Employee Engagement
• Supports the organization-wide employee engagement survey process from the development and planning stages through analysis, reporting, and action implementation.
• Applies expertise in data analysis and critical thinking to assist with the interpretation of results by identifying patterns and big picture connections and assisting business leaders in developing impactful action plans to address issues.
Leadership Development
• Delivers and evaluates data for LDI workshops.
• Facilitates highly interactive instructor-led trainings, engaging participants and effectively managing the classroom environment to ensure a constructive, positive learning experience for all participants.
• Maintains current expertise in all areas of leadership development to serve as a trusted resource for employees. Serves as an internal resource for internal seminars, specialized trainings, and bootcamps.
Instructional Design and Development
• Supports the Director of Organizational Development in designing and developing new content.
• Provides support in the development of blended learning tools (e.g., eLearning modules, mobile learning, job aids, learning reinforcement tools, etc.) to improve and or create new content.
