High-school work-study: Product Support, Manufacturing, Warehouse

Overview:
We are seeking a part-time High-school work-study associate located in our Olathe, KS office. In this program, you will be trained in an entry-level role that can develop into a long-term career. The program lasts one semester during your senior year and has the potential for a full-time employment offer after earning your diploma. During your senior semester, you will be placed in one of the following positions working 15-20 hours per week:
  • Product Support-Product Support Specialist
  • Warehouse-Material Handler
  • Manufacturing-Electronics Assembler
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  • Product Support Specialist - In this role you will help Garmin customers get back to their passion by providing superior customer service and technical troubleshooting through phone, email and chat
  • Material Handler - In this role, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, moving material, inputting data, preparing shipping documents, customer orders, tracking of orders and other inventory movement within a computerized system with accuracy while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Electronics Assembler - In this role, you will be responsible for assembling electronic components, assembling electronic units, and running boards for our Aviation and Auto OEM products.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Demonstrated interest for the product segment and interest in developing product knowledge
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Interest in developing technical skills and troubleshooting abilities
  • Must exhibit professionalism, be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
  • High School Seniors who plan to enter the workforce upon graduation
  • Able to work the following schedule during the Fall 2023 semester
  • Can work in-person at our Olathe facilities
