Job Description:
At Highland Associates, the Investment Consultant serves as the face of the business to clients and prospective clients. The Consultant is responsible for delivering a high standard of client service through coordinating Highland’s teams and resources to meet client needs. The Consultant helps the firm develop and acquire new relationships through participating in Highland’s business development process.
Primary Responsibilities
Serves as the primary relationship manager for smaller relationships and supports Senior Consultants on larger relationships
Maintains a constant dialogue with clients, executing client deliverables to high standards of quality and accuracy
Leads the work of the consulting support team to complete a variety of special projects including: enterprise risk management evaluations, asset allocation studies, investment policy revisions, manager searches, portfolio rebalancing, letters of instruction, etc.
Possesses general knowledge of recommended investment management firms, products, and strategies
Writes, edits, and proofreads client communications and training materials for clients about various investment topics
Participates in internal investment committee and/or subcommittee meetings, as needed
Participates in conferences and seminars, fostering relationships with existing & prospective clients
Actively participates in business development efforts, RFP responses and final presentations
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Five (5) years of experience in the Investment Management and/or Financial Services industry
Preferences
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Account (CPA) or other relevant professional designation
Skills and Competencies
Demonstrable success in a team environment
Demonstrates high energy and strong drive for results
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational and presentation skills
This position may be filled in Birmingham, AL, Clayton, MO, or Minneapolis, MN.
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
