About the Role

We’re very proud of our customer loyalty and our rapid growth. Concurrent with this growth is the need to scale our platform and improve our infrastructure in a fast-paced environment to improve our productivity and engineering excellence. We’re looking for a senior backend engineer to help build our platform.


Our ideal candidate should have strong technical skills as an engineer and architect; has a track record of building and supporting large scale software on public cloud providers such as AWS and Azure; is value-driven and cares deeply about culture; is self-managed, curious, and resourceful.


What You'll Do
  • Design and implement new CI/CD infrastructure and tools to improve developer workflow and productivity.
  • Design and implement services on Kubernetes to support the Highspot workloads.
  • Design and implement processes to enhance the cloud infrastructure governance and improve access management of cloud resources.
  • Author high-quality runbooks and technical documentation.
  • Join the on-call rotation to handle critical production issues. 


Your Background
  • 8+ years of relevant professional software engineering experience, not including internships/co-ops.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the modern programming languages: Java, Python, Go
  • Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and other CNCF technologies.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD technologies and IaC technologies.
  • Proficiency in using observability tools to investigate production issues.
  • Extensive experience managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure such as load balancer, API gateway, ingress controller, rating limiter, etc.
  • Strong background in working with SaaS software platforms at scale.
  • Expertise in cloud governance is strongly preferred.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit: you’re agile, creative, resourceful, and tenacious as you solve problems and achieve team and company goals.
  • B.S/M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.


Base salary range: $185,000 - $226,000. Employees are eligible to receive stock options and may also receive other forms of compensation.


The above represents total expected compensation for this role. Actual compensation will depend on various job-related factors, including, but not limited to, location, experience, and job qualifications.
