About the Role
We are seeking a Full-Stack Engineer III to join our team at Hinge.
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining internal tools essential for our Trust & Safety Ops team. Your focus will be on providing our moderation team with the necessary information to make effective decisions for user safety. Collaborating within a cross-disciplinary team, including data engineers, product managers, technical project managers, designers, and QA specialists, you will work closely with the Tech Lead and peers to advance our product and contribute to our engineering community. This role offers the opportunity to do high-impact work, directly contributing to user safety by enabling teams to work more efficiently. Given the current phase of maturity for our internal tools, you will have ample opportunities to shape and expand the product while broadening its scope.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to build features.
- Build tooling and user interfaces for our web application to support Moderation, Appeals and Support team members in managing users on our platform.
- Design and build backend/frontend features with an emphasis on quality and scalability.
- Own projects end-to-end, and effectively communicate with tech leads, managers and other stakeholders.
- Work in a cloud-native tech stack: Kubernetes, AWS, Go gRPC/API services, Postgres, Redis, Kafka, React.
- Participate and engage in team ceremonies/processes and our on-call rotation (weeklong alternating with other engineers).
What We're Looking For
- Proficient in coding in one or more backend languages with a preference on Go
- 3+ years experience with architecting RESTful APIs while following best practices
- 2+ years experience with building and maintaining React web applications (Javascript/Typescript, CSS)
- Worked with at least one message or event-based technology (Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.)
- Experience working in distributed production systems
- Familiar with Cloud infrastructure and microservice architecture (such as AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks (Mocha/Jest)
- Knowledgeable of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written & verbal communicator
- Adept at explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Salary Range
$143,000.00 - $172,000.00 per year salary
Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York City. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
