A Day in the Life As an LPN or RN, Staff Nurse at Home of the Innocents, you will provide top-tier medical care to children and young adults with diverse needs in a supportive, trauma-informed environment. You will play a vital role in assessing, planning, and implementing individualized care plans, while maintaining a nurturing, safe, and therapeutic atmosphere for our residents. Schedule Options: Days: 7 AM - 7 PM, 24, 30, or 36 hours per week Nights: 7 PM - 7 AM, 24, 30, or 36 hours per week How This Position Contributes to Our Mission

  • Deliver compassionate nursing care to children with complex medical needs, ensuring their health, safety, and comfort.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement care plans tailored to each child's unique needs.
  • Provide tracheostomy and ventilator care, with training available for those new to this area.
  • Foster a nurturing, trauma-informed environment that prioritizes the emotional and physical well-being of residents.
  • Educate residents and their families on managing medical conditions to promote better long-term health outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Monitor and manage medications, treatments, and interventions according to physicians' orders.
LPN or RN, Staff Nurse Skills and Qualifications
  • Current LPN license in the state of Kentucky.
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • Previous experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or long-term care preferred but not required.
  • Open to gaining or expanding experience with vents, trachs, and medically complex care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for working with children and families.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
