Biomedical Equipment Tech II

SummaryThe Biomedical Equipment Technician II (BMET II) maintains medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations or in accordance with the Alternative Equipment Management (AEM) Plan. The BMET II is responsible for a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. The BMET II colleagues should be competent in using all test equipment and tools needed to perform these duties. This position assists in the development of specifications for the selection of new clinical equipment. They also serve as preceptors for BMET I colleagues.QualificationsEducationAssociates degree in related discipline is required.High School Diploma or Military Training PLUS 3 years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.ExperienceProficient in all skills required for a BMET I is required.Three to five years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician is preferred.Certifications, Licenses and RegistrationsCertified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) is preferred.Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) is preferred.Physical Requirements: Support ServicesOverviewThroughout communities in Illinois and Wisconsin, 13 hospitals, numerous community-based health centers and clinics, our 13,000+ colleagues have built a culture based on our solid core values of respect, care, competence, and joy.
