Hourly GED Instructor

Human Resources announces an opening for an Hourly GED instructor for the Individual Student Alternative Education Plan.

Ability to teach high school students.

• Flexible, patient, dependable, independent worker, highly organized.

• Ability to attend state-wide GED/I.S.A.E.P. meetings and training workshops when necessary.

• Ability to assist, develop and plan an educational GED plan/program for individual students or

a group of students.

• Assist in the implementation of ISAEP program guidelines.

*Ability to interpret and fulfill GED state-wide policy regarding students under the age of 18. *Ability and willingness to communicate effectively with co-workers, parents, students, school counselors, probation officers and mental health staff.

• Monitor student progress by reviewing assessment information obtained from placement

assessments and GED Ready/Practice Tests.

• Maintain ISAEP student records and portfolio folder.

• Other duties as assigned.
  

• Experience working in a high school setting.

• Experience with at risk youth preferred

• Experience with students requiring IEP’s preferred

• Adult Education/GED experience preferred

• Experience working with students, families, and staff from various cultural and linguistic

backgrounds.

Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure. Successful classroom experience of three years or more.

Hourly rate of $29.58 per hour based upon 22/23 pay plan.
