Job Summary:

Under the supervision and direction of the Housekeeping leaders, the Housekeeper (Environmental Services Technician I) is responsible for cleaning the patient services areas. You will act as a patient ambassador for the hospital, interacting with patients while cleaning. Following infection control procedures you will use the appropriate chemicals to clean and/or sanitize the areas assigned. The goal is to provide a safe, pleasant atmosphere for patients, physicians, staff and other clients.

Essential Functions:

· Demonstrate knowledge of department policies and procedures.
· Clean assigned area per the cleaning method and any other specific requirements per the assigned duties/duty list checklist.
· Use appropriate chemicals, techniques, and infection control procedures while cleaning.
· Follow assigned duties for the day listed on the duty list/daily checklist.
· Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You (AIDET) into daily tasks.
· Report any maintenance or repairs needed immediately to management or identifies on daily checklist.
· Perform related services such as changing curtains, stocking supplies
· Maintain equipment, tools and storage areas in clean, orderly and good operating condition.

· Respond rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, special needs, spills, etc.

Job Qualifications:

· Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
· Experience: None required
· Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Requires the ability to read and follow instructions.

· Physical Requirements: Able to walk and stand for long periods. Bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling. Able to lift up to 35 pounds.
