Job Description: Housekeeping Manager (Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites - Long Beach Airport and IHG Hotel)

Position Summary:

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the housekeeping operations at the Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites located at Long Beach Airport, as well as other IHG hotels in the area. This position requires previous experience as a Housekeeping Manager, strong leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of housekeeping operations. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable about overtime regulations, possess excellent organizational skills, and have the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and manage the housekeeping team, including room attendants, housekeeping supervisors, and laundry staff.

Ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance are met throughout the hotel.

Develop and implement efficient housekeeping procedures, including room cleaning and servicing, laundry operations, and public area maintenance.

Schedule and coordinate the daily work assignments for the housekeeping team, considering occupancy levels and guest requests.

Train and mentor housekeeping staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.

Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness and maintenance standards.

Manage inventory and ordering of housekeeping supplies and equipment.

Collaborate with other departments, such as front office and maintenance, to address guest requests and resolve maintenance issues.

Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and adherence to procedures.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to housekeeping staff.

Handle guest complaints or issues related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.

Keep updated records and reports related to housekeeping operations.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Housekeeping Manager in a hotel setting is required.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team.

In-depth knowledge of housekeeping operations, including cleaning techniques, laundry procedures, and inventory management.

Familiarity with overtime regulations and the ability to effectively manage staffing levels to ensure compliance.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve high performance and guest satisfaction.

Proficiency in using housekeeping management systems and software.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications in housekeeping management are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and move around the hotel for extended periods.

Lift and carry cleaning supplies, equipment, and laundry weighing up to 30 pounds.

Bend, stoop, and reach regularly during inspections and cleaning tasks.

Manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment and handle cleaning tools.

Visual acuity to identify cleanliness standards and inspect guest rooms.

Clear and audible speech for effective communication.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
