Location: Warehouse Operations & MaintenDepartment: Facilities Operations - South DivisionArea:NorthContract Months:12Salary Range: $33.65 – $43.27Academic Year: 24-25JOB SUMMARYResponsible for managing, planning, overseeing, and coordinating the work of maintenance personnel in structural (i.e., carpenters, glaziers, locksmiths, painters, general maintenance workers), plumbing, electrical, and HVAC trades. Establish relationship and communication with district’s offices and school principals. Develop and implement a program to ensure proper training of all personnel.MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES• Plans, manages, coordinates, and controls the activities of HVAC, Plumbers, Electricians, Structural Workers, etc. for the schools and facilities within assigned area. Addresses employee issues and enforces board policy and procedures and safety regulations. Manage department to ensure adequate response to emergencies whether equipmet failures or natural disasters. Interpret building, fire codes, and inform staff to ensure conformity, avoid citations, and provide safe facilities.• Communicates with and advises the regional offices and principals on maintenance issues within their assigned area. Provides an action plan and updates as necessary.• Develops system specifications and state-of-the art work practices and standards as it relates to structural maintenance, mechanical (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.• Monitors the use and cost of labor and material within the area under his/her direction and effectively manages budgets. Reconfigures resources on an as needed basis to provide the most productive output from available resources. Establishes standards and policy for installment, modifications, quality control testing, operating procedures and inspections.• Participates in and coordinates training for assigned personnel. Develops programs and methods for continual upgrading management skills for supervisory staff.MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.EDUCATIONHigh School Diploma or GEDVocational/Technical/Business SchoolBachelor’s Degree preferredWORK EXPERIENCE7+ yearsSKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONPeopleSoft, SAP, Microsoft Office, Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier), Hand tools (e.g., hammer, shovel, screwdriver), Power tools (e.g., radial saw, reciprocating saw, drill, pheunomatic hammer), Vehicles (e.g., automobile, truck, tractor, forklift)Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management both internal and external district.LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIESManages (Directly). Regularly manages two or more employees in at least a single department. Includes large functional departments. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department.
