Job Summary:


Langan is seeking an HR Compliance Specialist to join its collaborative Human Resources team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in managing the firm’s reporting and analysis of HR compliance programs, including the Affirmative Action Program; OFCCP compliance adherence; monitoring federal, state and local employment compliance mandates; and maintaining alignment with the firm’s policies and procedures. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner with HR management to maintain compliance with relevant employment-related laws and legislation, company policies and procedures, reporting, training, and internal/external audits.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Maintains the firm’s Affirmative Action Program. Collaborates with Corporate HR Management in discussions with legal counsel pertaining to guidelines and updates to the program;
  • Monitors the firm’s OFCCP compliance and produces mandated documents. Oversees monthly state and local contract notifications;
  • Monitors the firm’s EEO/diversity efforts and outcomes, ensuring compliance and good faith efforts are maintained. Partners with Sr. Corporate Talent Acquisition Manager to develop and enhance staffing initiatives to support these efforts;
  • Develops and submits government compliance reports, AAP/EEO reports, project related employee workforce analysis reports, compensation and industry reports, and state department of labor reports. Provides Chief Human Resources Officer with diversity updates;
  • Remains current on all federal, state and local employment laws and regulatory changes and/or developments. Collaborates with Corporate HR Management to develop and distribute communications regarding employment law updates that impact the firm;
  • Collaborates with the Chief Human Resources Officer to facilitate and/or provide Human Resource compliance related training to employees, including the firm’s company-wide harassment training;
  • Maintains the firm’s policies and procedures and employee handbook. Ensures all new and existing policies are up to date;
  • Prepares and maintains accurate job descriptions and oversees FLSA classifications and testing;
  • Collaborates with Benefits Manager regarding adherence to benefit compliance mandates and conducting ACA annual reporting;
  • Responds to RFP requests for HR related information, including EEO policy, AAP, diversity statistics and compliance adherence. Responds to internal and external HR compliance audits and investigation requests; and
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree, coursework relating to HR a plus;
  • 5+ years Human Resource experience with a minimum of 2+ years in a compliance focused role;
  • Expertise in federal, state and local employment laws;
  • Must be customer service focused;
  • Ability to work well independently and within teams in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Strong problem-solving techniques and ability to effectively present information;
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and multitask efficiently;
  • Sound judgment and analysis capability;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and maintain confidential information; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HR database program(s).
