Overview
Morning Brew is seeking a People Ops Director to join our growing People Ops team! The People Ops Director will report to the VP, Head of People Operations. They will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day HR operations (benefits, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance). The ideal candidate for this position deeply understands the value of people –and how to make people feel valued – in an entrepreneurial, high-growth organization.
Morning Brew is based in New York City but this role is remote-friendly for all candidates.
What you’ll do:
- Partner with HR leadership along with key business stakeholders to conceive, create and implement a robust employee experience
- Act as an active and visible HR Partner to provide input, strong influence, and counsel on HR-related matters to successfully meet business growth objectives and drive improvements
- Drive key HR initiatives related to culture, leadership, diversity & inclusion, change management, organizational design, employee engagement, talent management, compensation planning, training and development, rewards & recognition, and employee communication
- Provide counsel, advice, and recommendations to managers ensuring the proper handling of constructive employee relations
- Maintain knowledge of People trends, industry best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; apply knowledge to continuously evolve employee practices and policies
- Interpret and implement HR policies, practices, and procedures when questions arise (D&I, time off, carryover, leaves of absence, health and safety, etc.)
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
- Perform other duties, as needed
What makes you qualified:
- 7+ years of experience in an HR capacity ideally focused on the development of impactful HR policies, procedures, and processes
- 3+ years of experience managing and/or mentoring more junior members of HR staff
- Effective at finding a balance between listening, coaching, proposing, directing, and deciding
- Commitment to the mission and values of Morning Brew
- Experience working with HRIS platforms such as Sequoia and BambooHR is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Great interpersonal skills
- Strong influence and conflict resolution skills
