HR Representative - MGX

MGX Equipment Services is seeking an HR Representative to join our growing HR team!

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting and supporting multi-site business units in all facets of Human Resources.

This position will be located in Shady Grove, PA, and reports to the HR Director for MGX.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Recruitment – Develop job descriptions and initiate requisitions, screen candidates, schedule and coordinate interviews, initiate background checks, onboarding, & orientation in collaboration with the Recruiter.
  • Compensation – Conduct salary reviews where required to ensure equitable pay practices, mid-year and on-going market adjustments, wage increases, and bi-weekly payroll.
  • Benefits – Administer open enrollment process for the business unit, address employee questions, assist with audits and communications.
  • Employee & Labor Relations – Active involvement with contract interpretation and employee relations including day to day problem resolution; policy development and enforcement/communication; conduct investigations to resolve employee conflict; serve dual role as employee advocate and management counsel.
  • Talent Management – Coordinate performance review process, conduct various training as needed, and assist managers with employee development.
  • Terminations/Promotions - Assist managers with the process to ensure appropriate documentation is in place; communicate employee exit information as appropriate.
  • Compliance – Ensure compliance of all federal, state, local, and corporate law and policies including maintaining files, records, and postings.
  • Communication - Assist with various employee meetings, publish various memos, etc. to keep employees informed. Coordinate various employee surveys and assist with audits as required.
  • Safety – Actively participate in safety programs and activities including audits, accident investigations, and trainings. Collaborate with the EH&S team on the maintenance and responses for Worker’s Compensation and DOT compliance.
  • May be assigned other duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in an HR Generalist role for a manufacturing or distribution environment. May consider experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; experience with HRIS systems required, preferably Oracle.
  • Must possess strong and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as listening skills. Candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to redirect confrontational conversations to promote positive working relationships.
  • Incumbent must be able to make informed and rational decisions in a timely manner that both reflect what is best for the employee and the Company.
  • Must be able to follow established company procedures to maintain compliance and consistency; experience in federal and multi-state employment laws required.
  • Experience working with both non-bargaining and bargaining unit employees preferred.
  • Strong presentation skills preferred; may be required to present in front of groups ranging in size from 5 to 50.
  • This position will be located in a normal office setting with exposure to the shop floor as required. May be required to work extended hours. Travel required up to 10% of the time or less, based on business conditions, as MGX has branches in multiple states across the U.S.
