Northrop Grumman is seeking an individual to perform administrative, coordination, and project support to the organization’s HR Business Leader and the HR team. This individual interacts with employees of all levels of the organization and has exposure to sensitive information necessitating considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion and judgment. This role will be based in Chandler AZ.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing guidance to all levels of employees regarding human resource policies and procedures.
  • Providing support to the HR Business Partners and HR Director located in Chandler, Arizona.
  • Maintaining department Sharepoint site, scheduling and coordinating meetings to include all logistics and material, order department supplies.
  • Managing business unit pre-hire and orientation process including tracking of incoming new hires, ensuring department leaders are prepared, welcoming incoming new hires on day 1, completing onboarding paperwork, presenting new hire orientation, and providing ongoing support as needed.
  • Managing business unit annual Intern program, which includes planning intern event calendar, supporting all logistics for each event (scheduling, location, food, speakers, etc), and serving as the local point of contact for interns with questions re: benefits, time charging, and general questions.
  • Maintaining accurate HRIS records by coordinating with managers and service center to complete HRIS transactions.
  • Providing projects and key initiatives support, including: collect and consolidate sensitive and confidential information to prepare reports, interact with many different levels within the company to ensure actions are completed timely.
  • Assisting HR and managers with Workday transactions.
  • Assisting the HR team with Salary Analysis, as needed.
  • Talent Attraction and Movement:
    • Coordinating relocation for internal transfers.
    • Managing business unit pre-hire and orientation process, as needed.
    • Processing Internal Reference Checks (transfers between sectors).
    • Serving as liaison to HR Service Center for issues associated with new hires, data changes, existing employees, and payroll issues. Setting up new contingent workers in system.

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of HR administrator, HR coordinator, or closely related experience – OR – combination of 4 years of education and experience.
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
  • Possess a high level of integrity when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proven success as a team player and collaborator and eagerness to learn in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong working relationships with a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent project coordination skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities.
  • US Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in growing and developing in the HR field.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Aerospace and Defense experience.


Salary Range: $41,000 USD - $68,400 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
